How We Use Information We Collect
We may use information we collect in one or a combination of the following ways:
To provide and improve our Services. We use the information we collect from our Services to provide, maintain, protect and improve the Services, to develop new ones, and to protect Scoreboard and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content – like giving you more relevant results.
To optimize your Account. We may use the name that you provide for your Scoreboard Profile across all of the Services we offer that require a Scoreboard Account. In addition, we may replace past names associated with your Scoreboard Account, so that you are represented consistently across all our Services. If other users already have your email or other information that identifies you, we may show them your publicly-visible Scoreboard Profile information, such as your name and photo, as appropriate.
To offer greater efficiency with our Services. We may combine personal information from one Service with information, including personal information, from other Scoreboard Services – for example, to make it easier to share things with people you know. We will not combine DoubleClick cookie information with Personally Identifiable Information unless we have your opt-in consent.
To enhance your experience. We may use information collected from cookies and other technologies, like pixel tags, to improve your user experience and the overall quality of our Services.
To inform you about the Services. We may use your email address to inform you about our Services, such as letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements.
To provide you assistance. When you contact Scoreboard, we keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues or concerns you may raise.
To comply with laws or to protect the rights of other users. If we believe the disclosure of information about you is necessary to respond to a legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. This includes exchanging information with other entities for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
To assist third-party service providers. We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing, credit checks, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, user services, and marketing assistance.
For other limited business purposes. If you have an Account, you grant us permission to publish your Profile Name, Profile Photo, and actions you take on the Services or on third-party applications connected to your Account (such as +1’s, reviews you write and comments you post), including publication in ads and other commercial contexts.
OUR SERVICES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DISPLAY CONTENT THAT IS NOT OUR OWN. CURRENTLY, OUR COMPANY UTILIZES SOFTWARE FROM THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS SUCH AS APPLE, GOOGLE, YOUTUBE, FAMILY WATCHDOG, AND GODADDY. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO DISCLOSE ALL OTHER THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS WHO MAY HAVE ACCESS TO THE PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT OUR USERS HAVE INPUTTED INTO THE SOFTWARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE SERVICES. IF WE INADVERTENTLY FAIL TO NOTIFY OUR USERS ABOUT A THIRD-PARTY PROVIDER WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO OUR USERS’ PERSONAL INFORMATION, WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROMPTLY MAKING THE PROPER DISCLOSURES AS SOON AS WE UNCOVER THE ERROR. ANY CONTENT PROVIDED BY THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENTITY THAT MAKES THEM AVAILABLE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE AT ALL TIMES FOR REVIEWING THE PRIVACY POLICIES AND ANY OTHER APPLICABLE POLICIES OF THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS.
Accessing and Updating Your Personal Information
Whenever you use our Services, we aim to provide you with access to your personal information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it – unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes. When updating your personal information, we may ask you to verify your identity before we can act on your request.
We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical efforts (for example, developing a new system or fundamentally changing an existing practice), endanger the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup systems).
Where we can provide information access and correction, we will do so free of charge, except where it would require an unreasonable or disproportionate effort. We aim to maintain our Services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our Services, we may not delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems immediately at the time.
When We Share Information
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of Scoreboard unless one of the following circumstances applies:
With your consent. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside Scoreboard when we have your consent to do so. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.
With the domain Administrator. If your Scoreboard Account is managed for you by a domain administrator (an “Administrator”), then the Administrator and in some cases the person leading the particular fundraising campaign may have access to your Scoreboard Account. Individuals or entities with access to a user’s Account are able to:
View statistics regarding your Account, such as statistics regarding applications that you install;
Change your Account password;
Suspend or terminate your Account access;
Access or retain information stored as part of your Account;
Receive your Account information in order to satisfy applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; and
Restrict your ability to delete or edit information or privacy settings.
For legal reasons. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside Scoreboard if we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request;
Enforce the applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations;
Detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or
Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Scoreboard, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.
With partners under certain circumstances. We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our Services.
We work hard to protect Scoreboard and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information that we hold. In particular:
We encrypt many of our services using SSL.
We periodically review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
We restrict access to personal information to Scoreboard employees, contractors and agents who need to know the information in order to process it for us and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations. These persons may be disciplined or their contracts terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
Our Stance on Contact with You
We may from time to time contact you to remind you about something related to the Services or to inform you of other great services we have in the works through “push notifications, or similar means. If you do not wish to receive notifications, you will be provided an “opt-out” option.
When registering for a Fundraiser with Scoreboard you are consenting to SMS (text) messages that will be sent to you during the fundraiser. These are only reminders and motivational messages that are relevant to your fundraiser and will not continue after the fundraiser ends. To opt-out of the messages you can leave the fundraiser or wait until the end of the fundraiser. Text messages will not continue after the conclusion of the fundraiser.
We may also contact our users in other ways such as e-mails, e-newsletters and tagged social media posts with promotional materials, coupons or deals. You will be provided an “opt-out” option if you do not wish to take advantage of these communications.
